Sticky Honey Garlic Sausage Pasta Skillet

Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (penne or rigatoni)
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

 

  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  • Cook Pasta: Boil pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • Brown Sausage: Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage slices and cook until browned, 5-6 minutes.
  • Add Garlic: Add minced garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Build Sauce: Pour in chicken broth, scraping up browned bits. Add honey, soy sauce, and vinegar. Simmer 2-3 minutes.
  • Thicken: Add cream and bring to simmer. Mix cornstarch with water, stir into sauce. Cook until thickened, 2-3 minutes.
  • Combine: Add pasta to skillet and toss to coat. Remove from heat and stir in herbs and red pepper flakes.

 

  • Serve: Top with Parmesan cheese and enjoy hot.
